How not to solder......
TEMPERATURE ????? (duh....soldering iron temperature)
I went into a pawnshop bought a lefty Squier that had been modded After PLAYING IT WAS LOUD TOOK IT APART SOMEONE HAD PUT ALL HQ PARTS EVEN ADDED A TREBLE BLEED THE SOLDER WAS A+ I’m going to transfer over to a right hand sRtat I was blown away. Poor person probably regrets letting it go 😢😢 Even has SD RAIL IN THE MIDDLE ITS A CHUGGER 😮😮😮😮😮
Sounds like a great replacement for those bottom-loaded, steel-polepiece single coils that come on Squiers and such. Those have a fun responsiveness, if only they didn’t sound so “messy”
add a 70s style jazz bass pickups and/or 70s style strat pickups pls
Picked the wrong one but, having now heard the effect (no pun intended) of the blender knob, I'm very glad to have it on my loaded pick guard, and I can hardly wait for it to arrive.
Wow, a lot of people saying this advice is plain wrong… it’s just one way to do it that is tried and tested. The bit about high pole pieces making a “spiky” tone says a lot. These guys have run the gambit on playing with pole pieces, and they make humbuckers, and are trying to teach us how to make their humbuckers sound like humbuckers. If you want a single/hybrid sounding pickup, which is cool too, DONT follow this vid’s advice lol, but these guys ain’t wrong.
Maybe haters hates you because you are better then them 🎉
Nobody hates the makers or the products. Just dislike and that’s ok because it’s a choice..
@@jimmyjimmy951 yeah, this is it
I love how those cymbals wash out into a somewhat tremolo effect. Very nice touch 💪🏻
C6 to 3.9nf
G strings on my 7-string guitars always seem to have lower volume than other strings doesn’t matter how high I set pole pieces for those G strings. I gave up on adjusting pole pieces and have been using Boss Equalizer GE-7 pedal to for tuning the string volumes.
Question, so my guitar jack socket is unwired but I dont know where to solder it to, how do I find out?
Hi, the video is really cool. Out of curiosity, what mixture do you use in time 1:49 to immerse the finished bobbin (flatwork + alnico polepieces)?
If only I had a humbucker plate to check 😊
A5 has more range, A3 sounds a bit more compressed. It kind of reminds me of the difference between a real single coil vs noiseless. A3 has this midrangey quality
metallica fade to black
Excellent tutorial

My e flat is like really flat but this wont do it

Hi how do i wire a tone pot on a bridge pickup only with a 5 way switch ibanez cheers
Moon safari by Air. Good choice
Thanks for the great video. Basic and too the point. I have a Squier Jazz Bass that needs a good setup but I didn’t know the details. Now if you could do a pickup height adjustment on an Epiphone Viola Bass video
The neck pickup on my tele sounds like I've got some reverb going but I don't. It's impossible to get a clean sound. It doesn't sound terrible but it does sound off somehow. Are my pickups too close or too far from the strings? I think it's set at about 3mm bass and 2.5mm treble side.
I actually stopped bending the ground lug to the pot and instead just use a wire. I do this because of breaking the pot by accident...that pcb that the lug is attached to can break easily! Trust me..after this happening to me a gazillion times...a wire is easier! Also, the tinning the lug at the top is great information. That Solder can go down that entire lug to the bottom and can and will cause breakage or shorts eventually!
More crispness and topend definition with A5, A3 is rounder and smoother.
Let’s talk metric it’s logical !!
Great video, love the method, explanation, etc. The only constructive criticism... Leaving your solder joints too shiny could mean a possible cold solder joint. You should have a matte finished look to solder. That means you've reached the proper temperature for maximum hold. Cold solder joints can break easily. This is of course if you're using a 60/40 solder with a rosin coar.
I need to replace these cables you are soldering - what cables do I need?
Will this work on split coil humbuckers?
Wasn't it wound in reverse as well??
charming :)
Good video. Equally, I don't think you need an hour to do this, as stated. Further, I would replace the pick-up foam pieces to ensure the pickups aren't tilting forward, as they are in this video. Instead, sit flat/parallel to the body.
TF you mean by weedy?
WTF you mean by weedy?
Dah ada org jaga.
Beware of the toxic fumes
How to adjust the pickup height separately for each string? I like to raise the E string higher than the other strings. Therefore, the distance between the E string and the pickup is wider than in other strings. Is it possible to lift the pickup magnet only under the E string?
actually that guitar it is more like SRV ....

Stratocaster too thin? Buy a Telecaster Jaguar too thin? Buy a Jazzmaster Jazz and Tele for life ❤
liked for the Smiths' riffs!
5 sounded fuller to me
WTF kinda lame man… don’t waste our time
nitro what?
I too am confused, nitro what?
It's a nitrocellulose lacquer dip to protect the magnets from corrosion, help keep everything together, and help protect the wire from shorting against the magnets. At least from what I have learned.
@@johnsettle5607 ah, very cool! potent stuff for sure.
Nitro finishes, however, crack and yellow with age, and they can “check” (guitar-speak for fine hairline cracks) with age or sudden exposure to low temperatures. They get thinner and more brittle as they age because the thinners in them continue to evaporate throughout an instrument's lifetime
Peter found this out by mistake. He was redoing his guitar, took it apart and for got how to put it back together. But he flipped it completely around, not just flipping over. He loved the sound and left it.
I’ve been practicing this technique and will be doing it for real tomorrow. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Cheers!
thanks, good stuff!
My baby cousin Jermaine got this perfect Prince sounds have a great day - Eddie
You don't pot them in wax?! Musta missed that.
This dill pickle doesn't reply to comments.... he's only interested in selling pickups.
